The CV of the author is so impressive. If I read the article without the CV I would give it a grading of one star out of 5 or 10. If this item represents the top level of American thinking then the country is in very serious doo-doo. America is not striving toward a new model of employment and society. Employers found they could walk on commitments and are no longer entering into binding contracts. The societal disintegration has only started, and the result will not be pretty. In the 80's I was counselling employers who were in tears, literally, over layoffs. When was the last time you saw any employer in tears? By the 90's employers wanted seminars on how to screw their employees! They learned that lesson pretty well. IBM no longer makes computers, except mainframes. A Chinese firm Lenovo took over the PC operation long ago. The reason that there is no moderate Islam is that there is no majority of moderate Islamic teachers who will speak up against Wasabi-style doctrine, even among North American muslim communities and congregations. And certainly not in England. In Islam the concept of secular progress and prosperity are diffused by religious priorities, and education is valued in a religious light unknown to westerners. The awful French staying at the resorts and leaving granny in the freezer trailer were likely smart enough to realize that you could not get an undertaker to work in July, and the cemeteries were closed too. Everything closes in France in July. The Chinese will never have a carrier force; they have developed and sell weapons to immolate carriers with thousands of small warheads too numerous to be swatted out of the air or water. Iran likely has these now.
